Breast reduction is, first and foremost, a surgical procedure that reduces the size of overly large breasts. U&U's bespoke breast reduction, however, aims beyond a simple reduction in size — it is designed to treat neck, shoulder, and lower-back pain as well as skin chafing.

Breast Reduction
I consider breast reduction a more difficult operation than breast augmentation.
Even when I first began learning breast surgery 20 years ago, I learned augmentation first and reduction afterward. That is because reduction is not simply a matter of inserting a pre-determined implant — what matters is how much you leave behind. After more than a decade of performing breast reductions, I came to see that every patient wants a different size, and I found myself tailoring the remaining breast tissue and skin accordingly.
I came to realize that this is a patient-tailored operation, carried out in a bespoke manner just as a tailor cuts a garment to fit. U&U's breast reduction is tailored to your desired size — A, B, or C cup — and performed with devoted suturing and aftercare to leave only minimal scarring.

Bespoke Breast Reduction Surgery

Bespoke breast reduction method

Depending on the scar pattern, breast reduction can be performed with a periareolar incision, a vertical incision, or an anchor (inverted-T) incision.

The method best suited to the goal of breast reduction is the anchor incision; in the diagram below, I adjust the radius of the circle and the lengths of the sides based on experience, completing the breast after surgery as if tailoring it.

Wide, spread-out areolas are reduced with a 38 mm diameter design. If nipple reduction to 11 mm is performed at the same time, an areola diameter of 35 mm creates harmonious proportions.

Types of Incisions
Types of incisions
bre1

Anchor (inverted-T) incision

This is performed on severely large, sagging breasts of 1,500 cc or more. It reduces volume and excess skin the most and is highly effective. Because it can reduce effectively in both the horizontal and vertical directions, it is the surgical method best suited to symptom relief — the very goal of breast reduction — and satisfaction is high.

You can freely choose your desired size — A, B, or C cup — and this is the incision method best suited to Bespoke breast reduction. Nipple position can be corrected to the desired height, and the scar takes an anchor (inverted-T) shape.
bre2

Vertical incision

Performed on moderately large breasts of 600–1,000 cc, it can remove a relatively large amount and has the advantage of being applicable to almost every breast shape. The areola is incised, followed by a vertical incision below it.
bre3

Periareolar incision

Effective for not-overly-large breasts of 400–600 cc, It is possible when the areola circumference exceeds 4 cm. a puckered scar around the areola  often remains, and the breast tends to look flat and wide. An implant can optionally be used.
bre4

Liposuction

A method that removes fat cells from the breast with liposuction. Performed on fatty breasts with little sagging and good skin elasticity. Its advantage is that it leaves almost no visible scarring.
