Breast revision surgery is performed to address dissatisfaction with the result or complications. Unlike a primary surgery, the previously operated pocket must be entirely reworked, making it a highly demanding procedure — an experienced specialist must accurately diagnose the patient's condition and, after thorough consultation, determine the revision method and timing appropriate to the symptoms.

Breast revision surgery is performed to address dissatisfaction with the result or complications. Unlike a primary surgery, the previously operated pocket must be entirely reworked, making it a highly demanding procedure — it must be discussed with an experienced specialist.
Only then can we accurately analyze why the initial surgery failed and identify the surgical method best suited to correct it.
Dissatisfaction or complications after surgery are unwanted outcomes for the patient — and for me as the surgeon. But such cases have decreased so dramatically compared to the past that I can honestly tell you there is no particular need to worry.

Timing of revision surgery
Breast revision surgery is best performed 6 months to 1 year later, once the breast tissue and shape have largely settled.
When there is capsular contracture or signs of inflammation, revision may be needed sooner. I diagnose each patient's condition precisely and, after thorough consultation, decide on the revision method and timing appropriate to the symptoms.

Stages of capsular contracture
Capsular contracture is graded from 1 to 4. Grades 1–2 do not require surgical correction; only grades 3–4 do, so fewer cases actually lead to revision surgery than you might think.

Method Of Breast Resurgery
Breast revision methods
Breast revision surgery depends on the cause of the primary surgery's failure and the symptoms. However, when there is a problem with the capsule, our principle is total capsulectomy — removing both the anterior and posterior capsule — no matter how demanding the operation.
Allergan implant replacement
We remove the existing implant and the entire existing capsule, irrigate thoroughly, and replace it with a new implant. Patients I have previously operated on can also have their implants replaced.
Capsular contracture
We reposition the existing implant, or remove and replace it. Whenever possible, it is best to completely remove the capsule causing the contracture.
