Act on Support for Overseas Expansion of Healthcare System and Attraction of International Patients
In Korea, a clinic may not treat or recruit international patients unless it is registered under this act. Registration requires the institution to hold medical malpractice liability insurance and to report its foreign patient statistics to the authorities each year. It is a legal permission to treat international patients, not a quality award or a ranking.
