Currently, breast implant removal costs are generally in the range of 3 to 6 million won.
The reason the range is so wide is that in some cases, additional procedures or surgeries are needed on top of the implant removal.
When capsular contracture or rupture has progressed, 'capsule removal' is often performed at the same time.
If the capsule has hardened from capsular contracture, or silicone has seeped into the capsule after a rupture - leaving it in place can lead to inflammation later on.
Also, if you have lived with implants for many years, a 'breast lift' or 'fat grafting' may be needed in some cases.
This is because skin elasticity naturally decreases over time, so the breast shape may no longer be what it once was.

After implant removal, breast tissue does not stabilize in a short period of time.
Recovery proceeds through the stages of inflammatory response → fibrosis → healing → stabilization. During this time, various tissues such as fat tissue and blood vessels are rebuilt.
However, during the healing process after implant removal,
calcification / fat necrosis
does occur in some cases.

To repeat: this does not occur only when there are complications such as capsular contracture or rupture.
It can also apply to those who have kept their implants for many years.
When an implant is placed, our body forms a thin membrane (capsule) around it.
This capsule serves to hold the implant stably in place.
However, as pressure from the implant and subtle friction repeat over time, small inflammatory reactions accumulate inside the capsule.
These accumulated micro-inflammations can become a cause of calcification.
( * This is because they trigger calcium deposits.)
Calcification does not necessarily mean a serious problem.
Even if slight calcification occurs, as long as it only shows on imaging and does not affect daily life, no treatment or removal is needed.
However, there are certainly cases where calcification does become a problem, so we recommend that you also seriously consider additional procedures.
