Since the surgery is designed around tissue preservation with the goal of shortening recovery, it also uses different surgical instruments.
- Channel Separator
: creates the tunnel through which the implant and other instruments pass
- Balloon
: creates the space where the implant will settle
- Funnel
: delivers the implant into the breast
These 3 instruments are used in Preservé surgery.
The process of creating the space for the implant is called 'dissection.'
Because this dissection is not performed with heat-based instruments, the technique can be said to prioritize preserving the patient's tissue.
