First of all, sagging breast surgery is not performed the same way for everyone.
- For some, an implant alone is enough;
- some get an implant together with a breast lift;
- some have a reduction and a lift at the same time;

For sagging alone, you probably also want to know how breast size changes with a lift.
Below, we explain the change in size when a lift is performed without an implant.
This information is based on a published study, so it may get technical — please read closely.

This paper is indexed in the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
It is the work of one of the leading figures of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
A total of 20 patients took part in the study. Cup size, hormonal status, and more were examined before and after surgery to track changes in breast size.
When only a lift was performed, without an implant,
the study concluded that cup size decreased by 1 cup on average.
As the study above shows, a lift on its own can lead to a reduction in breast size.
Of course, this reduction can be improved to some extent with fat grafting — but there are limits.
With fat grafting added, keeping the breast shape or gaining about half a cup is the most you can expect.

So if you also want more breast volume, we would encourage you to consider an implant.
