To those considering implant-based breast augmentation, we would first like to share some good news.
Most breast augmentation surgeries used to require general anesthesia.
Now, however, some patients can undergo implant surgery with local/sedation anesthesia alone.
And the surgery can now be performed in an average of 20~40 minutes, while preserving as much tissue as possible.
In the first half of this year, we took part in a live surgery session at Motiva's official invitation.
We demonstrated the Motiva Preservé procedure before 30 medical professionals gathered from around the world.
Below, let us explain what exactly this Preservé is.

Conventional breast augmentation often damaged the breast's structure during surgery.
To place an implant, a pocket had to be created inside the breast, so the muscle / ligaments / fibrous tissue inevitably had to be touched.
You can think of Preservé as placing the implant through a minimal incision while preserving the structure of the breast.

You can understand it this way: an instrument like the one below expands the space inside the breast / and delivers the implant.
In the photo on the left, you can see the gray instrument creating the space.
In breast surgery, as in the upper-left photo, the space between the mammary gland and the muscle is opened up to create the pocket where the implant will sit.
The incision only needs to be large enough for the gray instrument in the left photo to enter — which means an incision of just 2.5cm ~ 3.5cm is sufficient.
This is the equipment used in Preservé surgery.
However, this approach comes with 2 limitations.
First
Implants that are too large are difficult to place.

Earlier, we looked at how the implant pocket is formed in Preservé.
We saw that it is similar to creating a gap between the mammary gland and the muscle.
However, the gap between the mammary gland and the muscle can only be opened to a set extent.
( * That is why we consider it applicable only when a patient wants an implant of around 300cc. )
Second
If the skin, subcutaneous fat, and mammary tissue
are thin, the procedure may be difficult.

As mentioned, Preservé is an upgraded version of a conventional breast augmentation approach — the subfascial technique, to be exact.
But when the implant is placed subfascially, the only things covering it are the skin + fat + mammary tissue.
So if the skin + fat + mammary tissue is thin, the implant may be visible from the outside.
To sum up,
Preservé can be performed for those who want a C cup or smaller (an implant of around 300cc) / and whose skin + fat + mammary tissue is thick.
